Open Letter to President Donald J. Trump

September 16th, 2025

Donald J. Trump

President

United States of America

Dear Mr. President,

I write with deep concern regarding the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk. This devastating incident reflects the harsh reality of our times where lives are cut short due to political and religious differences, and where violence continues to undermine the sanctity of human life.

This tragedy underscores the urgent need for reform. It is imperative for policymakers to come together and address one of the core drivers of such violence: the accessibility and misuse of firearms. The question remains: how many more lives must be lost before decisive action is taken?

The alarming rise in violence is also connected to a growing mental health crisis. It is deeply troubling to imagine how a 22-year-old could unjustifiably take another person’s life simply because access to weapons made it possible. As you are personally aware, even national leaders are not immune to assassination attempts. This reality highlights the urgent need for comprehensive reforms.

I respectfully urge your administration to prioritize:

  • Stricter regulations on gun access
  • Stronger mental health interventions and support systems
  • Enhanced national security measures to protect citizens and leaders alike

If left unaddressed, these issues may further destabilize communities and lead to greater unrest. Yet, I firmly believe this situation can still be salvaged through bold leadership and immediate reforms that place the safety and dignity of human life at the forefront.

My thoughts are with you and the people of the United States at this difficult time, and I hope the nation emerges stronger amidst these uncertainties.

Yours sincerely,
