Designing youth employment policies in the Caribbean

March 20th, 2012

The CYP Caribbean Centre is organising a seminar on employment policies for officials and Caribbean Youth leaders from March 29 to 31 in Saint Lucia.

It is acting on a May 2011 recommendation to “create the enabling environment to foster greater youth entry into the job market and for the inclusion of youth concerns and right-based solutions in employment policies and Youth Employment Action Plans”.

The seminar will provide an opportunity to understand what issues should be considered in designing comprehensive youth employment policies and actions plans. In addition it will also provide a forum to discuss best practices in this area and formulate recommendations on further action at the national level.

Can you take a few minutes and give your suggestions on what should be included in youth employment policies to generate jobs for young people?
