Provisional Results of the Commonwealth Youth Council Executive Elections

The Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC) is pleased to announce the provisional results of the 2024 executive elections, which concluded at 12pm BST on 18th September 2024.

The election saw robust participation from youth delegates across Commonwealth member states, and the executive will serve for the 2024-2026 term.

The Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC) is the official representative voice of the more than 1.2 billion young people in the Commonwealth. The CYC was first established in 2013 with the support of the Commonwealth Secretariat’s Commonwealth Youth Programme. It was endorsed by Commonwealth Heads oMoeloto Tuilaepa Tiatiaf Government at their biennial summit in Sri Lanka as an ‘autonomous, youth-led organisation’.

Provisional Results of the 2024 Commonwealth Executive Elections

The following individuals have been elected to lead the CYC for the next two years:

  1. Chairperson: Joshua Opey, Ghana
  2. Vice Chairperson, Policy and Advocacy: Falit Sijariya, India
  3. Vice Chairperson, Inclusion and Engagement: Neema Sheikh Abdikadir, Kenya
  4. Vice Chairperson, Partnerships and Resources: Gurdit Singh Vohra, India

Representatives:

  1. Africa: Rosy Schaneck, Namibia
  2. Asia: Muskaan Anand, India
  3. Caribbean: Amanda Jessica Slew, Jamaica
  4. Europe and Canada: Eunice Oladejo, Canada
  5. Pacific: Moeloto Tuilaepa Tiatia, Samoa
  6. Representative, Special Interest Groups: Farhana Jan , India
