Commonwealth Youth Sport for Development and Peace (CYSDP) Elects New Chairperson

The Commonwealth Youth Sport for Development and Peace (CYSDP) Network, a youth organisation that uses sport as a tool to promote development and peace, has announced Akash Jha as its new chairperson.

Akash who was also a part of the CYSDP Executive Committee holds a masters in City Planning with specialization in Sports Infrastructure planning and development; Environment Policy Planning from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

He also serves as secretary for the CAP Young Planners Network and was the 21st president of NOSPlan Organisation of Student of Planning in 2019.

In this new position, the Indian national will continue show how sport can be used as a compelling tool to promote tolerance, respect, peace, and understanding among people from different cultures.

Akash will also represent the CYSDP Network at CABOS (Commonwealth Advisory Board on Sports) and Commonwealth Sports Minister’s Meeting.
