Dr Henry Charles served with utmost dedication and unwavering commitment to the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Commonwealth Youth Programme. He demonstrated remarkable leadership as Regional Director, Acting Director of the Youth Division, youth policy consultant, and, at the time of his passing, the Co-chair of the Year of Youth advisory committee.
Over the past decade, Dr Charles has been an integral part of the CYC since its inception, forging an enduring bond with our organization and leaving an indelible mark on our collective efforts.
His sudden departure has cast a profound sense of loss and sadness within our ranks. Dr Charles was not only an exceptional advocate for the youth agenda but also a beacon of inspiration, kindness, and unwavering support for young people across the Commonwealth. His passion, unparalleled work ethic, and tireless dedication were exemplary, serving as an endless source of motivation and encouragement to countless individuals whose lives he touched.
